Prayer Ministry

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
Jeremiah 33.3

“Prayer is the vital breath of Christians; not the thing that makes us alive, but the evidence that we are alive.”  Oswald Chambers

The purpose of the Prayer Ministry is to bring glory and honor to the name of Jesus Christ through prayer.  We call upon the mercy and divine power of our Sovereign Lord to intervene in the lives of the hurting, to bring revival to the nation, and to celebrate His answers.  We desire to serve you in your prayer needs.

The Prayer Ministry extends an invitation to you to become involved in the work of God.  You can make a difference for eternity when you pray!  If you would like to become involved in one of the ministries below, or if we may serve you by praying for you, please contact us.

Ministry Opportunities through Prayer

Worship Warriors
Worship Warriors pray during the weekly worship services.  They serve by lifting the worship time and the worshippers before the throne of God.  The time commitment is approximately one hour either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly…and you have the opportunity to witness the fruits of your labor as men, women, and children come forward to profess their faith.

Prayer Warriors
Prayer Warriors pray daily for the staff at Crestwood.  All Prayer Warriors receive an occasional mailing, updating them on the prayer concerns of the church staff and the prayer concerns of the various ministries in which they are involved.  Prayer warriors also lift up the weekly prayer concerns of the church.  These weekly prayer concerns are published weekly and are available at the information center, as well as in all Sunday school classes.

Prayer Chain
Those on the prayer chain receive urgent requests by phone and commit to pray for those requests.  Usually, those involved in the prayer chain also make one to two calls to others in order to keep the chain going.  The time commitment is minimal but the rewards are eternal!

National Day of Prayer Observance
You may be a participant in the observance of the National Day of Prayer (the first Thursday of May) or you may be a part of the team who organizes CBC’s observance.  Either way, you will be praying for our nation and its leaders….what a privilege!

Prayer walks, Prayer Vigils, and Read Through the Bible Weekends
These are our “special events” inspired by God as He commands.  You can be a part of what He is doing just by signing up to pray at one of them!  It is exciting to watch God work among His people.  We hope that you will join us.
